2016 Swenson, Voxland, and Leinen Distinguished Service Award

On February 11, 2016 several officers responded to assist Fargo PD in a domestic violence/shooting call.

Lieutenant Deric Swenson responded as a team leader of the Regional Negotiations Team. During the critical period where the suspect was communicating with a Fargo PD detective, Lieutenant Swenson worked with the detective at coordinating the negotiations process with the subject.

Detective Joel Voxland responded to this domestic violence callout as part of the Regional Negotiations Team as well. During that time, he worked with other agencies at both the RRRDC and on scene to communicate with the subject.

Officer Nick Leinen responded to the scene as part of the Regional Bomb Unit and operated the robot during the SWAT entry of the suspect's residence.
