Homebuyer Incentives

The City of Moorhead recognizes residential growth is important to our community and economic vitality.  We offer special programs for new home construction, including a property tax rebate for the first two years after construction and special assessment loans for first time homebuyers.  The State of Minnesota also has mortgage and down payment financing programs that may work for you.

Moorhead welcomes all homebuyers with a round of golf, and for those that build new homes in Moorhead, the “all access” Welcome Home pass includes a season of golf, swimming, and recreation programming for the whole household.  No application is necessary on the part of the homebuyer; passes are distributed periodically as real estate transactions are recorded.
