Moorhead Police Offering Two Additional Summer Programs

Post Date:04/10/2025 6:32 pm
The Moorhead Police Athletics and Activities League (PAL) is offering two mentoring and physical activity programs this summer. Through a grant from the Department of Justice and local sponsors and partners, these programs will help PAL build positive relationships between local law enforcement and community youth. Volunteers from Moorhead PD and area law enforcement coach both programs.

Crossfit Teens is returning after two successful years. With partners at Elevate Human Potential in Moorhead, teens ages 13-18 will attend fifteen CrossFit sessions that are immediately followed by a mentoring session. The program takes place from 1:00 pm-2:45 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July. All necessary equipment is provided.

Badges for Baseball is for eleven and twelve-year-olds interested in playing baseball this summer. There is no cost for the program. The PAL program will cover the league fees for the Red River Valley League through Moorhead Youth Baseball and all equipment and uniforms. Practices and games start weekdays in May and run through July. In addition to learning the game of baseball, participants will be taught the “Badges for Baseball” curriculum to teach collaboration, cooperation, and mutual respect. Games and practices are on weekdays. There are no weekend events or out-of-town travel for either program.

Registration in online at www.moorheadpal.org and will remain open until filled. For additional information or questions about either program, contact scott.kostohryz@moorheadmn.gov. Moorhead PAL is a 501c3 operated in partnership with the Moorhead Police Department and area law enforcement to connect Kids, Cops and Community.
