On Monday, September 29, 2025, at approximately 3:26 PM, officers with the Moorhead Police Department made contact with a 17-year-old juvenile in the 2800 block of 34 Street South. The individual was reportedly identified as being involved in a disturbance earlier in the day at the Moorhead Career Academy and had since left the premises.
During the investigation, officers detained the juvenile for questioning. While reviewing traffic camera footage and conducting a search of the area, officers located a loaded handgun in close proximity to the juvenile. The juvenile was subsequently arrested and transported to the West Central Regional Juvenile Center.
The individual is currently being held on a felony charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Person Under 18 Years of Age. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
