Post Date:11/27/2024 12:00 pm

The City of Moorhead invites the community to the Hjemkomst Center on Tuesday, December 3, for an evening of holiday cheer, cultural celebration, and community connection as we kick off the holiday season!

This free event offers something for everyone:

  • Holiday Tree Lighting: Mayor Shelly Carlson will lead the tree lighting ceremony outdoors, joined by FMCT's Winter Wonderettes for festive caroling.
  • Global Market: Shop unique crafts, treats, and goods from nine local vendors representing Indigenous and immigrant communities, including Kurdish baklava, Mexican buñuelos, East African sambusa, and more. The market will be open from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
  • Ugly Sweater Contest: Wear your best (or worst!) holiday sweater and vote for your favorite. Winners announced at 6:00 pm!
  • Meet the Winter Wonderettes: Enjoy a sneak peek of FMCT’s talented cast, who will perform holiday tunes and bring musical magic to Moorhead this December.
  • Family Fun: Sip hot cocoa, savor sweet treats, and snap a photo with Santa, who will join us to help light the tree!
  • Free Admission: Enjoy free admission to the Museum thanks to the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County.
