James Christie Wins MoorHeart Award!

Post Date:07/08/2024 8:00 pm

James is committed to bringing his passions and creating initiatives that overall improves the Moorhead community. James’s nomination includes the following statement:

“James has almost single-handedly cared for the Sticks Garden and Conduit Sculpture on Main Avenue since summer 2022 by weeding, clearing garbage, and adding native, pollinator-friendly plants. James exhibits his photography locally including “Through My Father-in-Law’s Eyes” last year and “Backyard Buzz,” currently at Third Drop, the latter of which is a plea to increase pollinator habitats in Moorhead for a brighter ecological future for all.”

For all James does for Moorhead – and especially for the way he spreads joy with his art and his passion for the environment. From placing rocks with art on them around the city to removing snow on the sidewalks for the neighborhood. Efforts like these do not go unnoticed or without thanks – the MoorHeart selection committee chose James to receive the MoorHeart Award.

James is a great example of the MoorHeart spirit. Congratulations to James Christie for making Moorhead a brighter city and thank you for spreading joy throughout the community.

The MoorHeart award is an opportunity to recognize individuals who go above and beyond to demonstrate community within our City by their actions and service. A team of volunteers from city boards and commissions selects award recipients. The MoorHeart award is commemorated with a piece of art commissioned from local artist Dennis Krull especially for this purpose.

Information on nominating individuals/organizations for the MoorHeart award can be found at (Search for MoorHeart Award.) Contributions large and small are worthy of nomination!
