The MoorHeart award is an opportunity to recognize individuals/organizations that go above and beyond to demonstrate community within our City by their actions and service. A team of volunteers from city boards and commissions selects award recipients.
Winners represent a wide range of individuals and organizations in our community. In 2022, winners include:

- Environmental advocates River Keepers
- Business advocacy group Moorhead Business Association
- Pollinator garden creators Eric Bailly and Amy Anderson
- Youth mental health program founders Lezlee Bertie and Amber Ferrie
- Non-profit founder and community activist Destiny Holiday
- Smile-bringer John Cunningham
- Community organizer Resilient Moorhead
- Teacher and community historian Brian Cole
- Community supporters The FM Legion Riders
The MoorHeart award is commemorated with a piece of art commissioned from Moorhead-based artist Karman Rheault especially for this purpose.
