On Tuesday, March 12, at approximately 10:00 a.m., first responders were dispatched to Main Avenue Southeast and 20 Street South. A single vehicle was westbound on Main Avenue Southeast on the center median when it struck the railroad support pillar. An adult female driver was deceased on the scene. No other vehicles or persons were involved. The structure remained secure, and no damage was noted after inspection.
The victim will be transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy, and the crash is still under investigation. The identification of the victim will not be released at this time.
The Moorhead Police Department was assisted by the Clay County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol, the Moorhead Fire Department, Sanford Ambulance, and the Moorhead Public Works Department.
