Incident Involving Train

On February 3, 2024, at approximately 01:23 am, the City of Moorhead Police Department responded to a report of a male being struck by a train near the Moorhead Center Mall. Officers located the stopped train and the male on the North side of the railroad bridge which extends over 1 Avenue North in the 500 block. 

The male was alert and conscious. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries to his right arm and leg. Preliminary information is that the male was lying near the tracks in an area that is not approved for pedestrian travel. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

The City of Moorhead Police Department was assisted by the City of Moorhead Fire Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and Sanford Ambulance.
