On Saturday 12/10/16 at approximately 2:46 pm, officers were dispatched to a road rage incident involving two different vehicles near 8th Street and 37th Avenue South in Moorhead. It was reported that a passenger in one of the vehicles pointed a handgun at passengers in a separate vehicle, after they honked the horn at the suspect vehicle. The victims were able to provide a description of the vehicle, including the license plate, along with descriptions of the two males in the suspect vehicle.
Moorhead officers tracked down the suspect vehicle in the 1600 block of 20th Street South in Moorhead. Two males were inside the vehicle which matched the suspect descriptions. Both males were detained while the officers conducted the investigation. As a result of the investigation, Sterling Zeck (19 year old male from Fargo) was taken into custody and booked into the Clay County Jail. He is being held on several charges, including, Felony Terroristic Threats, Possession of Replica Firearm, Disorderly Conduct, and Obstructing Legal Process. A search of the suspect's vehicle revealed three replica handguns, with one of them matching the description the victims gave. No actual firearms were located during the search. Zeck is being held at the jail pending an initial court appearance on Monday.
