Four-plex Fire Ruled Accidental

Post Date:05/06/2019 2:41 pm
The May 5th apartment fire at 1205 12th Ave N has been ruled accidental, caused by improper disposal of smoking materials, according to Assistant Fire Marshal Kayla Cross. The fire has caused an estimated $70,000 in damage. An explosion that was heard by many in the area after the fire started was a result of a small propane tank used with a portable grill. Working smoke detectors helped alert residents of the fire, all of whom escaped without injury.

The Moorhead Fire Department reminds residents to only dispose of smoking materials in approved metal containers.
