Trash tote storage reminder

New containers may require reorganizing to store totes properly

Post Date:08/30/2017 1:19 pm

The implementation of the new recycling program is a new routine for all of us.  We hope you appreciate the convenience of no-sort recycling.  The new containers are great, but they may also require some reorganizing for storage.  The City of Moorhead has received a number of complaints about trash containers being stored in front yards in several neighborhoods.

The Moorhead City Code requires that garbage and recycling totes be stored against the back or side of the home with lids closed, or within a garage or shed.  If you have not already done so, please remove trash containers from the front of your property and store them in a way that complies with this City Code.  Please also put your trash out for collection not more than 24 hours before your scheduled pick-up and remove your totes from the boulevard within 24 hours after your pick-up.

Thanks for your cooperation as we adjust to these new containers!
