Frostival is all about celebrating the “cool” of winter with outdoor events, concerts, and family-friendly activities across our North of Normal city, Fargo, and its sister cities West Fargo and Moorhead. Grab your friends, bring your spirit of adventure (and maybe some mittens) and join us in making cold, cool.

Moorhead Events and Activities

Harold's on Main
Frostival Winter Mixer at Harold’s- enjoy a mix of different events for friends and family such as s’mores and bonfires, craft projects for the kids thanks to The Healing Arts Revolution, outdoor games, ice bar, music, food by Usher’s House, and Triple Ax. Hop inside for karaoke and a cozy place to warm up. Kids are welcome until 9:00 pm.
Fun at the "Frozen Fortress"
11 am-3 pm
Embrace the cool of winter with a day of outdoor activities and events, featuring: The Moorhead Business Association's Snow Sculpture Contest, Free Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoe Rentals, fitness activities, indoor and outdoor games, Log the Sauna a hot chocolate station, a marshmallow roast, Free Museum Admission and much more frosty fun!
Snowball Dance and Carnival
6 pm-9 pm
Enjoy a night out with the family dancing and playing carnival games. $8 per person which includes dance and carnival games (Food and bowling additional).
Winter Wonderland Open SkateFebruary 2
12 pm-4 pm
Cullen Hockey Center
Join us at the Cullen Hockey Center for open skate for all ages. Free skate rentals for 4 to 10 year olds while supplies last thanks to Scott Tobolt Foundation. Jay’s Smokin BBQ will be catering the event. Co Sponsored by the Moorhead Business Association and Moorhead Parks & Recreation & Moorhead Youth Hockey.
Winter Wonderland Dog Pack Walk
Hotdog! Pet Salon
Join the winter pack… dog pack that is! Nature of the North and Hotdog! Pet Salon are teaming up to host a pack walk along the Red River. Participants meet at Hotdog! Pet Salon/Nature of the North prior to the winter pack walk and return for refreshments with their 4-legged friends.
"Ice Bowl": Disc Golf TournamentFebruary 8

Ice Bowl tournaments are held across the country to help fund raise for local food shelves and food-related charities. These tournaments began in 1996 and over $3.15 million has been raised for charities nationwide. A portion of your registration fee will be donated and we encourage you to bring non-perishable food items to the event to donate as well.
Adult Coed Kickball Tournament
Enjoy the cold, be active. Kickball will return to the Frostival calendar and will allow teams to embrace the cold and compete! This is a round robin style tournament and teams are guaranteed 3 games. Each team will receive participation t-shirts.
Winter Gear Swap

Moorhead American Legion
Do you have functional gear laying around your house, shoved up in your attic, or hidden somewhere in your garage that you aren’t using? LET US HELP!
Nature of the North, the Moorhead American Legion Post 21, and Frostival 2020 are teaming up to give the FM community an opportunity to buy, sell, and trade used gear/equipment! FREE to attend and FREE Registration to sell. We simply want to provide a space for you to make some money while also helping to grow your local outdoor community. This event will make it possible for people to access gear that they otherwise wouldn’t have, and allows for the possibility of learning a new hobby, or inspiration for a fun adventure!
Winter Trails Day

M.B. Johnson Park
Learn how to snowshoe, skishoe, and/or XC ski for free at MB Johsnon Park. This event is sponsored by the North Country Trail Association’s Dakota Prairie Chapter, NDSU’s Natural Resource Management Club, MSUM’s Regional Science Center, Moorhead Parks & Recreation, and Nature of the North.
