On Tuesday, December 9, at approximately 4 pm, the Red River Valley SWAT Team assisted the Moorhead Police Department and the Metro Street Crimes Unit in executing a high-risk, no-knock search warrant at an apartment building in the 1900 block of 18 Ave S.
Due to the suspect’s criminal history, the SWAT Team was requested to safely serve the warrant and support in the apprehension. As a result of the coordinated efforts, one individual, 43-year-old Moorhead resident James Schaan, was located inside the apartment and taken into custody without incident. Schaan was arrested on outstanding warrants from Clay County for Attempted Theft and from Hennepin County for Theft of a Motor Vehicle. He was transported to the Clay County Jail.
