Moorhead Police Attempt to Locate a Wanted Person

Post Date:09/03/2025 9:58 am

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at approximately 12:42 AM, officers from the Moorhead Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 2900 block of 16th Avenue South. Prior to officers’ arrival, an involved person, identified as 21-year-old Krayshawn Tyler, fled the scene on foot.

During the investigation, officers learned that Tyler had an active arrest warrant issued by the Minnesota Department of Corrections for a release violation related to a felony 1st-degree aggravated robbery. A K9 team from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist in tracking the suspect.

At 1:13 AM, a resident in the 1800 block of 33rd Street South reported an attempted burglary. The caller stated that a male matching Tyler’s description attempted to enter their home via the patio door. The suspect fled after being confronted by the homeowner.

Due to the search for Tyler, a focused shelter-in-place alert was issued at 1:41 AM to notify residents in the neighborhood of the attempted burglary about the ongoing police activity. Tyler’s alleged attempt to enter an occupied residence, combined with his known violent criminal history, prompted the alert to be issued.

The Moorhead Fire Department deployed a drone to assist in the search. At approximately 3:00 AM, the shelter-in-place advisory was lifted after an extensive search. Officers determined that Tyler was likely no longer in the immediate area. Tyler is described as an African American male, 5 foot 6 inches, 140 pounds, who was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and shorts.

The Moorhead Police Department is still attempting to locate Tyler for the warrant, and he is a person of interest in the attempted burglary.  Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.

The Moorhead Police Department was assisted by the Moorhead Fire Department and a Clay County Sheriff’s Office K9 team.
