On Friday, April 7, 2023, at approximately 8:30 pm, officers were called to Highway 10 and 21 Street for a vehicle versus pedestrian crash. The 12-year-old male victim was riding his southbound when he was struck by a vehicle turning southbound on 21 Street from traveling westbound on Highway 10. The vehicle, driven by an adult female, then traveled southbound after the crash and failed to remain on the scene.
The male victim injured his ankle and was transported by Ambulance to Sanford Health, where he was treated.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-colored Chevy Avalanche or Honda Ridgeline style truck with possible front-end damage. Anyone with information is asked to call the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at 701.451.7660 and ask to speak to the on-duty Moorhead Police Supervisor.
