The preliminary autopsy results from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the identity of the March 9, 2023, homicide as Dustin Momerak. The cause of death has been listed as "multiple sharp and blunt force injuries." The suspect in custody, Douglas James Swenson II, is the victim's half-brother. The two had been living together at the time of the incident.
The investigation is still active; however, there is still no information leading to believe there is any threat to the public, no further suspects are being sought, and an item believed to be used in the homicide was located on the scene.
