Throughout the summer, the Moorhead Police Athletics and Activities League is hosting events to promote positive interaction between youth in our area and local law enforcement. The Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit Run and Junior Homerun Derby is being hosted at Centennial Fields on July 6, from 6 pm to 8 pm. This event is for kids 8-14 years of age. Winners move on to a regional competition and from there could compete in a Major League ballpark, with a national competition being held at the World Series.
In addition, the Second Annual Cops and Kids Baseball Game is being hosted at Matson Field on August 3, at 5:30 pm. This exhibition game is for 13-15 year olds in Clay County and will consist of a friendly five inning game against local officers. Players will receive a personalized jersey and meal after the game.
