Moorhead Business Association recognized with MoorHeart award
Congratulations to the Moorhead Business Association! On Monday, March 14, the Moorhead City Council presented Sheri Larson (Executive Director of the Moorhead Business Association) with the MoorHeart award.
The Moorhead Business Association (MBA) is committed to advancing Moorhead’s businesses and community through advocacy, networking, and free flow of information. The MBA specializes in focusing on the needs of Moorhead by working to create a community where all are interconnected and recognize the roles each play in Moorhead. The Moorhead Business Association nomination includes the following statement:
The MBA works endlessly to ensure Moorhead is put on the map! It doesn't matter what the season, they are busy planning and getting the word out about how wonderful it is to belong to the Moorhead community. Frostival, parades, college Bridge Bash, 4th of July fireworks and so much more - they involve businesses and invite the public to see what is happening right in our own backyard. They worked tirelessly during the pandemic to ensure Moorhead businesses were aware of programs available to keep their businesses open and running. They also promoted restaurants that were offering curbside and specials so that we as members of the community could keep them operational during this difficult time. The MBA is a true treasure to Moorhead in promoting our wonderful city. We appreciate all they have done to promote our community and keep “Moorhead Strong”. We LOVE 56560!
For all the MBA does for Moorhead – and especially for the way it uplifted Moorhead during COVID-19 and promoted Moorhead businesses throughout the FM area – the MoorHeart selection committee chose the Moorhead Business Association to receive the MoorHeart Award, with extra special recognition to Sheri Larson and former staff member Nick Lehr. MBA provides a great example of the MoorHeart spirit through its numerous activities and sponsorships.
The MoorHeart award is an opportunity to recognize individuals who go above and beyond to demonstrate community within our City by their actions and service. A team of volunteers from city boards and commissions selects award recipients. The MoorHeart award is commemorated with a piece of art commissioned from Moorhead-based artist Karman Rheault especially for this purpose.
