Adventure Lab - A Tour of Moorhead parks & Recreation

Adventure Lab-Parks Tour Logo

July is National Parks and Recreation Month and it's the perfect time to explore our community, neighborhood, and regional parks, walk or bike on the trails, or kayak down the Red River!

We’ve set up a Virtual Tour of some of Moorhead’s favorite spots! Check out our Adventure Lab! Download the app to visit and learn more about Moorhead Parks and Recreation! This virtual tour features ten of our favorite public community spaces. We're celebrating National Parks and Recreation month by giving all who complete the adventure (10 locations) a special prize (while supplies last)!

June and July

Get out, get moving, and win prizes! The Walk this Way Challenge encourages you to enjoy the warmer weather by getting outdoors and walking! The Parks and Recreation department will provide a walking log sheet via email for registrants to fill out each time they walk asking for duration and miles walked. We encourage you to use the 3 and 3.25 mile “Moorhead Walks This Way” loops by the Meadows and Reinertsen neighborhoods. There will be a new loop coming to the Tessa Terrace neighborhood this summer. You can walk anywhere to participate in this challenge, as long as you try and map out your route to gain the mileage. Let’s see how many miles we can walk as a community! We will have random prize drawings each week throughout the month of June and July for those to participate. Registration is required.

Thursday evenings, June and July

Let's go fly a kite! Build your own kite at home or use a store bought kite and get to flying! Every Thursday evening in June and July, head outside or to your favorite park and fly your kite! Share your kite flying pictures by tagging Moorhead Parks and Recreation on social media with the hashtag #KiteToUniteMoorhead. A free Community event. No registration needed.

Stay tuned for more programs!
