The Moorhead Military Banner Recognition program was established to honor current military personnel (including active National Guard members) who reside in Clay County or those military members who have an immediate family member* living in Clay County. Each street light banner will have the name, branch and photo of the serviceperson. *Immediate family members are considered wife, husband, son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter, son-in-law or daughter-in-law.
Clay County residents with family members currently serving in the military may honor their loved one’s service to our Country with a recognition banner proudly displayed along Main Ave, between Veterans Memorial Bridge and 11 St S. The anticipated timeline for the 2019-2020 submittals is as follows:
- August 2019 - February 2020: Receive banner submittals
- February 2020-March 2020: Production of banners
- March/April 2020: Installation of banners
- Spring/Summer 2021: Removal of banners
- Banner material allows placement for approximately one year. Future Active Military Banner programs may occur - check back for updates!
