Arrests Made in Connection to Shooting on September 19, 2020
On September 19, 2020, at approximately 0052 hours, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of 5th St for a loud party that evolved into a shooting involving party-goers.
The victim, Reece Mentore, age 19, of Fargo, ND, suffered a single gunshot to his lower leg. The suspects had fled the scene before the officer’s arrival.
On Sunday, September 20, 2020, Sam Payne Jr., age 19, of Moorhead, MN, and Yorell Taylor, age 19, of Fargo, ND, were arrested for this incident for weapons-related offenses and possessing stolen firearms.
On Wednesday, September 23, 2020, Abednego Thomas Jr., age 20, of West Fargo, ND, was arrested in West Fargo on Cass County felony warrants and held on 2nd Degree Assault charges relating to this incident.
