Multiple Moorhead Police officers were dispatched to assist emergency medical units in the 200 block of 17th Street South at approximately 9:20pm on September 1st when the caller reported he punched and cut his roommate in a disturbance. Upon arrival, statements by the two long time roommates, as well as witness statements and evidence collected on scene, led to the arrest of the caller, Matthew Gilbert (36 years old). Gilbert was taken into custody and is being held on charges of domestic assault and second degree assault with a dangerous weapon. The adult male victim was taken to the emergency room with significant lacerations to the face, neck and hand.
