Haroon Hayder is recognized in the Civic category. Haroon volunteers at a number of community events. He works to create a more inclusive community and champions community involvement.
Lisa Arnold
is recognized in Education. Lisa volunteers her time in teaching English to New Americans families. She provides assistance with reading, writing and preparing for citizenship tests.
Hope, Inc. is receiving the Human Rights Award in the non-profit category. Hope, Inc. helps kids and adults with mobility challenges live active and full lives through adaptive sports and recreational activities. Bill and Adair Grommesh founded the organization and work tirelessly to help others realize their potential.
The awards will be presented by Moorhead Human Rights Commission at the Moorhead City Council Meeting on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 5:30pm in the First Floor City Council Chambers, 500 Center Avenue, Moorhead.
The public is invited to attend the presentation and the public reception prior to the meeting. The reception begins at 5pm and will be held in the Moorhead Center Mall near the elevators. Refreshments will be available.
