South Moorhead Arrest
On September 24, 2019, at 8:57 PM, the Moorhead Police Department responded to the 900 block of 17 Street South for a disturbance. Information was provided that a victim had been stabbed. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with a possible suspect that was detained pending further investigation. Information was obtained that the suspect and victim were known to each other.
The victim had been transported to an area hospital by an associate in a personal vehicle prior to officers arriving on scene. The victim suffered serious injuries as a result of the assault and is still being treated at a local hospital.
Justin Dallas Cominghay, age 32, with no permanent address, was booked into the Clay County Jail on suspicion of 1st Degree Assault. The case will be forwarded to the Clay County Attorneys Office for charges.
The Moorhead Police Department was assisted by the Fargo Police Department during the incident. There is no ongoing threat to the public. The case is still an active investigation and there will be no additional information released at this time.
