Water Recovery at Johnson Park

On June 29, 2019 at 4:08 PM the Moorhead Police Department, Clay County Sheriffs Office, Moorhead Fire Department and FM Ambulance responded to a water rescue at Johnson Park in north Moorhead. A caller reported they observed what appeared to be a body floating in the river. Officers arrived at the boat launch area and were able to confirm a body was in the river. The call transitioned from a water rescue into a recovery effort for the body. First Responders were able to locate and recover the body from the river. The Moorhead Police Department is currently working on positively identifying the body and notifying family members. Based on the ongoing investigation there is no additional information that will be released at this time. There is no indication there is a threat to public safety.
