Authorities have located the subject of the earlier search in Moorhead around the Red River near 32nd Avenue South and Riverhaven Road. The male confirmed he had injured his foot earlier in the evening, but told officers he was never in danger near the river and does not know why first responders were given that information.
As with any 911 call for assistance, the Moorhead Police Department took the necessary steps to ensure there was no serious emergency and exhausted all resources to search the riverbanks in the area the witness led us to. Moorhead Police are grateful for the assistance of the Moorhead Fire Department and Valley Water Rescue in this search.
