Moorhead Parks and Recreation Participates in Timberwolves "New Era. New Courts." Program
This summer, the Minnesota Timberwolves will travel across the state of Minnesota to help neighborhoods take their love of basketball outdoors with the ‘New Era. New Courts.’ program, presented by U.S. Bank. The team will select three courts to be refurbished and we are calling on our fans to help us decide which court to improve in each market including Moorhead, Rochester, and the Twin Cities. Contest begins on July 12, and runs through August 6.
Moorhead Parks and Recreation is inviting area residents and community visitors to vote for their favorite court location(s):
Northeast Park (1817 8 Ave N)
This neighborhood park is on the north side of Moorhead in an older area of town. The park has a half-court basketball area looking for improvements.
Lamb Park (1325 14 Ave S)
This basketball court is in the center of Moorhead in close proximity to Concordia College Campus. Currently there is a half basketball court needing improvements. Also in Lamb Park is a neighborhood recreation center that hosts a summer park program, ice arena, and a playground.
Woodlawn Park (400 Woodlawn Park Dr)
This sub-regional park is in the heart of downtown Moorhead, nestled along the Red River. It is one of the most widely used parks due to the proximity of bike trails through the downtown greenway. This park has experienced flooding in recent years that has deteriorated the surface of the basketball court.
You can learn more about the program and make your vote by visiting the Timberwolves Official Website today. Only one vote per day.
Vote now and we’ll see you on the courts this summer!
