Fire in Attached Garage - Four escape Injury

At 6:33 pm, the Moorhead Fire Department was dispatched to a garage fire at 1621 5th St S. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from the attached garage of a single story home. The initial fire was knocked down 8 minutes after arrival, however crews remained on the scene for another 90 minutes while smoke was removed, small fires were extinguished and the initial investigation occurred. Four people were home at the time of the fire and all escaped without injury. There was extensive fire damage to the single stall garage and light smoke damage in the home. Crews from the Moorhead and Fargo Fire Departments, Moorhead Police Department, F-M Ambulance, Salvation Army and Red Cross responded. The fire remains under investigation.
