Man Arrested After Crashing into House

On February 5, 2016, at approximately 0047 hours, Officers were sent to 3563 23 Ave S on a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a house. The caller had been asleep in the room the truck had crashed into. She was shaken up but not injured from the crash. The vehicle caused substantial damage to the house but did not break through. There was damage to both the exterior and interior of the residence. Officers discovered a white 2005, Chevy Colorado pickup stuck against the rear of the residence. It appeared the truck had also crashed through a cedar fence in the backyard.
Other officers located the driver across the street. The driver has been identified as Aaron Michael Johnson (33) from Ransom, ND. It appears he lost control of his truck while going eastbound on 24 Ave S from 34 St S. He was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. He was taken to the Clay County Jail where a breath test revealed an alcohol concentration of 0.18. His truck was removed from the back yard and impounded. Johnson was taken to the Clay County Jail and held on the following charges:
- 3rd Degree DUI
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident
- Careless Driving
- Criminal Damage to Property
